Miss Humblebee's Academy is an award-winning, online and offline curriculum that prepares children ages 3 to 6 for kindergarten proficiency. At Miss Humblebee's Academy, we believe in order to fully prepare your child for a lifetime of learning success, there needs to be a combination of online and offline learning. Our Offline Curriculum section takes the information your child has learned online and lets them use it offline through the use of hands-on activities.

Lessons
Miss Humblebee's Academy is a thematic-based curriculum, where core disciplines are connected by a common theme (e.g., All About Me, Animal Classes, My Five Senses). The benefits of a thematic approach is that children will develop learning skills more quickly because material is presented in an inter-disciplinary manner. The lessons are in the following subject areas: Language & Literacy, Math, Science & Social Studies, Art & Music, Social & Emotional Learning, and Fitness.

Assessments
The Cognitive Skills Assessment evaluates three specific domains that are legislatively mandated for kindergarten readiness. The domains are fully aligned with the Head Start Child Development and Early Learning Framework.

Progress and Performance Reports
Miss Humblebee's Academy provides weekly reports on lesson progress and performance that are emailed as well as readily available online at all times. Caregivers, educators, and librarians can go to one place to track child and classroom success.

- Pinpoint trouble spots
- View improvement over time
- Measure progress based on length of practice time

Resources
Miss Humblebee's Academy offers traditional academic and developmental resources, but we also believe kindergarten readiness extends far beyond traditional academics. We provide the necessary resources for caregivers, educators, and librarians to take learning offline and outside with our offline curriculum. We also empower caregivers to raise children to become healthy, contributing members of society, by giving children responsibilities that extend beyond the traditional learning environment. For example, by allowing children to be responsible for specific chores, they can begin contributing in their home and then the world around them. Why MHA for school readiness?

Miss Humblebee
Miss Humblebee was in line to be the next Queen Bee, but left the hive to follow her dream and help children everywhere.
She's patient, nurturing, confident and a hard worker, but enjoys sitting back and watching nature and all its beauty grow.

Oly
Oly is named for the word "Olympian." He's confident, cool, relatable, popular because he's nice and helpful.
He's born to be cool, and aspires to be Superman. Oly's favorite subject is math.

Fiby
Fiby is named for the Greek word Phoebe, which means "brilliant".
She is a tomboy who likes to have lots of fun, similar to Peppermint Patty, and not prissy. She loves to read and has a very active imagination. Loves adventures and exploring.
Fiby's favorite subject is language and learning.

Mic
Mic is named for Paul McCartney. He's relaxed, has an easy-going personality, and loves life and all living things. He is an emotional artist who expresses himself through music.
Mic's favorite subject is music.

Raffi
Raffi's named for Dr. Rafael Royo-Torres, a Spanish paleontologist. He's energetic, loves dancing, has an infectious personality, and is bubbly.
Raffi's favorite subject is science and social studies

Jia is named for Huajia, Chinese for "painter". She's thoughtful, polite, kind (especially to plants), sweet, gentle, and knows she's cute.

Language & Literacy
Miss Humblebee's Academy language and literature helps children develop skills required by state and national standards for early learning and K-12 school readiness. Preschool through kindergarten-aged children learn basic concepts and build a strong foundation in letter knowledge and sound. The curriculum gradually becomes more challenging as the child advances.
Children will learn:
- Alphabet knowledge, sounds each letter represents and writing practice sheets
- Upper and lowercase letter recognition
- Follow multi-step auditory directions

Miss Humblebee’s Academy Math helps preschool through kindergarten-aged children develop skills required by state and national standards for early learning and K-12 school readiness.; Children learn basic concepts and gain a strong foundation in number recognition, counting, and writing. The curriculum gradually grows more challenging as the child advances.

Art
Children explore art through the ages by learning about famous painters and paintings, as well as different forms of artistic expression. Children will also listen to auditory cues to paint by number and paint by letter.
Learning about art becomes even more exciting when children create their own masterpieces. Miss Humblebee's Academy offers hundreds of drawing, coloring, and tracing activities that can be completed on the computer or printed out to be used offline. Every artwork completed by the child can be turned into a puzzle with three levels of difficulty.

Language & Literacy
According to the American Speech, Language and Hearing Association, language is not the same as speech. Language consists of a set of social standards that shows comprehension of the meanings behind words, putting words together in a sentence in order to communicate and understanding commands, directions and information given by others.
Literacy is the ability to read, view, write, design, speak and listen in a way that allows you to communicate effectively.

Mathematics
According to the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) and the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM), “Early math concepts, [such] as knowledge of numbers and ordinality (e.g., first, second, third), were the most powerful predictors of later learning. • Early math is a more powerful predictor of later reading achievement than early reading problem solving and reasoning are the heart of mathematics.
According to the Head Start Early Learning Framework Social & Emotional Development refers to the skills necessary to foster secure attachment with adults, maintain healthy relationships, regulate one's behavior and emotions, and develop a healthy concept of personal identity.
Fine Motor Skills
Fine motor skills involve the coordination of small muscles in the hands and fingers. Strong fine motor skills are essential to complete tasks such as writing, cutting, putting together a puzzle, using a spoon and fork properly, as well as getting dressed.
According to Psychology Today, fine motor skills in kindergarten were a predictor for reading and math achievement during elementary school.
Gross Motor Skills
Gross motor skills involve movement of the large muscles in arms, legs, and torso. Strong gross motor skills are essential in order for children to run, climb, throw, as well as engage in social play.
According to Kid Sense, gross motor skills impact your ability to navigate your environment (e.g. walking around classrooms, carrying your heavy school bag). Strong gross motor skills help children with their coordination, which impacts their confidence during physical activities.
A child's natural curiosity, ability to solve problems, and creativity all play a role in school readiness and success.
